    1. Erin Hunter is the pseudonym of five people Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, Tui T Sutherland, Gillian Phillips, and Inbali Iserles, as well as editor Victoria Holmes Together, they write the Warriors series as well as the Seekers and Survivors series Erin Hunter is working on a new series now called Bravelands Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.

    2. The first story, Alpha's Tale, was a bit underwhelming. It is supposed to show why Alpha hates Fierce Dogs so much, but I don't think what happened with them was that bad at all. I like getting back stories that help us understand complicated characters, but I don't think anything that happened to Alpha validates the way he acts. We also never saw him do anything bad, so it didn't really show us how he became the dog we met in the second book.Sweet's Journey was well written, and I like her char [...]

    3. This series is very good and I recommend it to anyone who has read the Warrior Cats series, or likes action packed books featuring animals. :)

    4. So this book took me forever to read. It took me a while to figure out why. It's a book by Erin Hunter! I read all of them! Survivors is a fast read compared to the other series, this shouldn't take long at all!And then it dawned on me why it was so hard to get through.I did not care.I have been pretty vocal about my dislike of Survivors. It doesn't have the same spark to it as Warriors and Seekers did. Due to that, reading a short story collection about three dogs I don't care about? Yeah, bore [...]

    5. Another book that has spent far too long on my to-read pile! It's no secret that I love both the Warriors and Survivors books (I still haven't tried the Seekers books though) and this one was no exception. Basically it is three short stories, including Alpha's tale, Sweet's journey and Moon's choice. All of these dogs played leading roles in the main series, and all of them had untold stories until now. I really enjoyed getting some background information on all of these characters!Best of all, [...]

    6. The book "Tales from the Packs" was a mix of a few stories in the Survivors series. These stories were tales from before the pack was made. There were 3 main characters in this book, Sweet, Moon, and Alpha and they were all dogs. The dogs were able to talk to each other and they were all born in the wild. They all had different backgrounds and the stories portrayed how they arrived in the same pack and how they got their ranks in the pack. This was a very good book even though it was 3 books in [...]

    7. In this paperback version of Erin Hunter's three Survivors novellas, the past of the central series is revealed. Alpha's past and his connection with the Fierce Dogs is shown, showing his true character. Sweet's journey to the Wild Pack after her encounter with Lucky is detailed every step of the way. And finally, Moon's past with Fiery and the Wild Pack is displayed. These three seperate stories will keep the reader entertained.

    8. Ooh a multireview. Let's do thisPHA'S TALE tells the story of how the half-wolf Alpha of the Wild Pack came to be the leader we know today.SWEET'S JOURNEY shows us how Sweet got her rank of Beta in the Wild Pack after leaving Lucky in book 1ON'S CHOICE presents to us how Moon (and some other members of the Wild Pack) became exactly that, members of the Wild Pack.Alpha's Tale:While I liked the story, I must say it was a little underwhelming, like another one of the reviews pointed out. Alpha is q [...]

    9. I thoroughly enjoyed this first set of Survivors novellas. Three separate reviews (beware of spoilersis review is LOADED with them):Alpha's Tale was interesting, to say the least. Very sad to see how he was rejected by the wolf pack, and forced to be a pet later on by a human. There was not enough reason why he would hate Lucky and his pack, but now I see why he hates Fierce Dogs a little bit. Their description of killing his Mother-Dog was too heart-wrenching, and yet he still fell in love with [...]

    10. These stories were okay. I enjoy how they take the reader back in time to explain how certain characters ended up where they were at when the series started. However, in the paperback version, these stories appeared in the wrong order chronologically. Sweet's Journey should have appeared after Moon's Choice to preserve the integrity of the timeline. Alpha's Tale was supposed to explain to the reader why the half-wolf has become such a cruel alpha but by the end of all three of these stories, I s [...]

    11. I am really glad that Erin Hunter wrote this book. Ever since about the second book I have been wondering how Alpha, Sweet, and Moon came to the pack. This book is a really nice way of learning new stuff about the characters and the other pack mates as well. Like with Moons story I learned about Moon but also about Fiery, and Multch. But my favorite story was probably Alphas. It tells about how he came to be such a vicious canine and how he became Alpha in the first place. It's just a wonderful [...]

    12. This book explained a lot of thing that were not mentioned in the Survivors series. Full of extra facts about the Survivors world before the Big Growl, this book is well connected to the series.
