    1. As a kid Emma wanted to be an astronaut, or maybe Captain Janeway Because she didn t really think her career choices through very well she ended up in an everyday geek job, crunching numbers and sighing over syntax It seemed a long way from the stars and in an effort to escape Emma decided to get serious about her other passion Writing Several years later and Emma has yet to walk on the moon or sit in the Captain s chair, but she is still writing She scribbles stories in all sorts of genres, contemporary, paranormal, post apocalyptic, historical, sci fiif she hasn t tried it yet she will before long The only common theme is the romance A hopeless romantic everything Emma writes has a love story in there somewhere.

    2. If ever there was proof that geek is chic, The Seduction Game is that. My not so inner geek was in heaven with this complete lose-yourself-in-the-romance fabulousness. I loved everything about it. Kate Kelly is a geek. A completely loveable perfect geek with a stubborn streak who owns a computer store, loves her sci-fi, what she doesn't know about gaming you could write on the back of a postage stamp and is happiest in jeans, t-shirt and Converse. Her home/business is the last building standing [...]

Review posted at: Swept Away By RomanceStory Rating ~ 4 StarsHero Rating ~ 5 StarsHeroine Rating ~ 5 StarsRomance Level ~ 4 StarsHeat Level ~ 3 StarsEnding ~ 4 StarsOverall Rating ~ 4.5 StarsWhat an enjoyable read this was for me. The story line was really good and I had a hard time putting the book down. It starts off with the heroine, Kate, being mad. She’s mad because she’s being bullied into selling her building that she works and lives in. All of the other business around her have alrea [...]

    4. Slick‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews4.5 STARSReview copy provided for an honest reviewI’ll admit I love a sexy alpha hero; there’s something about all those three types rolled into to one man that drives me a little bit crazy but more than that I love, love when the heroine in a book is a sexy geek. Mostly because it’s unexpected and largely because geeky women don’t usually see themselves as sexy which makes them even more attractive. In The Seduction Game computer e [...]

    5. My girl Emma doesn't disappoint!!! Loved it. Full review to come!Reviewed on my blogAll The Bookish LoveEmma Shortt sure knows how to entertain a lady! She never fails to disappoint me and I was yet again pleased and giddy to read one of her books. This girl can write. From erotic romances like her fantastically orgasmic Club Smex, to some very hot negotiations with a trio of billionaire’s in her Criminal Seduction trilogy and whacking zombies with a machete in nothing but purple panties in Wa [...]

    6. Beauty is the GeekTalk about a big case of opposites attracting. A millionaire with a successful property development business and a loner geek with a computer upgrading business squaring off over the sale of her property. He's slick, handsome and a bit under-developed as a character and she's a strange mix of stiff spined and gutless. Not gonna lie I had a very difficult time liking these characters. When Will wasn't thinking about how tiny Kate is, she's thinking about how she's not going to s [...]

    7. Ebb and flow ladies and gentlemen Ebb. And. Flow. I realize it takes a talented author and her team of publishers and what all to make sure a book has solid characters, a strong plot, great interconnectedness and good ebb and flow. This book just had ebb. Meaning like the tide it just went out but nothing flowed back in. While I don't want to spoil the plot I will say I am confused off my ass how virginal in 21st century romance writing translates to painful shyness, self-doubt, life-curious, do [...]

    8. The Seduction Game was a quick, quirky and sweet story. I really enjoyed that the heroine got to be the"geek" in this story, so many of the "geek romances" lately have super hot men as the geeks and Emma Shortt turned this on its head. I loved seeing the how Kate was awkward and shy and was reluctantly pulled out of her shell by the billionaire Will Thornton. The story started off slow for and it took awhile for me to find my rhythm with the pacing, then when Will and Kate finally stopped bickeri [...]

    9. "I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review" So here it is finally :) I really like the "geekiness" of Kate. Emma you had me laughing at Kate and Will as they were getting to know each other Loved what Kate put Will through :) It is a good book and I am looking forward to Emma's zombies in Waking Up Dead (End of Days Love #1)

    10. Review forthcoming on a-reader-lives-a-thousand-liveI received a copy of The Seduction Game in exchange for my review. Will Thornton is a property developer who wants to turn the area around Kate Kelly's computer shop, K.I.T, into a shiny new development called the Risings. But Will has been away in London and his second in command, and brother in law, Chris has been left in charge, though he has assured Will that they had the verbal consent of Kate to sell, it isn't actually the case, and as the [...]

    11. Okay, I need to say this first, and foremost, Will Thornton is NOT a bad boy! I don't know why the moniker was given to him at all throughout this book. Okay, I get that his sister calls in a bad boy, but it's more sibling ribbing than anything else.Okay, so now that I got that out of the way, The Seduction Game is the story of two people, polar opposites if you will, who come together because of warring circumstances, and fall in love. It's one of the oldest romance tropes, enemies to lovers, a [...]

    12. Reviewed for Confessions From RomaholicsI’m nerding out after this book as I’m excited over this book because of two things .This book appeals to my inner geek and the heroine is a geek and a serious fangirl. Thrown in the hero who is a sexy alpha male that is willing to admit when he is wrong and you got a magical book here.Kate Kelly is the lone standout in a development project that Will Thornton’s company is building and she stopping from it going ahead. The memories in this place are [...]

    13. Kate is a computer whiz with her own store. But that store is at risk from the millionaire Will Thornton. He wants to knock the store down because it sits in the middle of his new development. Kate is determined to play the waiting game and hope he just goes away. Will has other plans. He thinks Kate is cute (in her own nerdy sort of way) and plans on flirting his way into getting her to sell. What follows is one of the more humorous and exciting romances I've read without actually becoming a co [...]

    14. This started out slow--I wasn't too sure about it for the first quarter or so. Kate and Meg had a tendency to talk like they were still in college quite a bit in the beginning, which seemed off considering Kate was supposed to be a fairly successful business owner--"geek" doesn't necessarily translate into can't stop slipping into text speak in regular conversation. Thankfully that didn't last long, though, and soon I was swept into the story.Things I liked about this story:- Kate and Meg's rela [...]

    15. I received this book as an e-ARC free from Netgalley. Below is my review. Will and Kate (and I just put that together!) is one of the rare but growing trends of geek girls in traditional romance. I like the trend a lot (being a geek myself). Major kudos to the author for that. OK - mini geek girl rant: (view spoiler)[If your girl is a geek girl and she plays games well enough to beat guys at a con to give her geek girl cred, she needs to have at least one console at home and/or talk about said ga [...]

    16. Will really wants Kate's building. Kate doesn't want to give it to him. Creepy brother in law working for Will tries to intimidate her into selling and goes a bit psycho in the process. Thinking that Will had put him up to it, Kate thinks of Will as the "enemy" so that by the time they actually do meet face to face she is completely hostile to him. Now Will isn't an innocent in this as once he does meet her he plans to seduce her into selling the building. Boo! Hiss! Ok put the torches and pitch [...]

    17. I loved this story and it's characters!! This is a marvelous story of two people who despite their differences learn that different doesn't mean not! Geeky Kate, Super Hot Alpha Will and Meg (who deserves a story of her own)! I loved Will's tenacity with Kate, Will recognizes his desire for Kate and doesn't let her hostility and snarky attitude derail him. It's not often a man recognizes the potential for a relationship before the woman! Kate thinks her geeky-ness and refusal to sell her busines [...]

    18. This has become one of my faviourite books! An enjoyable and a quick read!! It started off slow and as one of your typical books where girl meets billionnaire and falls in love. A few chapters in and I could not put the book down -the characters become personal and relatable (especially the 'geek' girl). The characters are introduced in more detail and you find out Kate is a sci-fi nerd and Will is a family men when it comes to his sister and her children. I don't want to give away too much of t [...]

    19. 3.5 - 4 starsI was drawn to The Seduction Game because of the author. I read Emma Shortt’s Waking Up Dead and loved it. Zombies, running for your life, and falling in love – what a combo! It usually always works for me. Then I saw that she wrote a contemporary romance, and I thought – what the heck! I will read it as I wait for the next book in her zombie series!I enjoyed The Seduction Game mostly because protagonist Kate is a certified nerd. She’s a sci-fi fan, dabbles in game design, a [...]

    20. ARC given by netgalley for an honest reviewI do have a collection of books from this author, and so glad to have the ARC of a new book. Apart from the usual genre (a bit in erotic side) it is nice to read a slow build-up romance from the author. The book is a about Kate, an honest small shop owner with a big real estate developer trying to buy her out to build a posh shop/apt building block. Will is the said owner of developing co. What they didn't imagine were the sparks that ignite the first ti [...]

    21. ARC was provided via Netgalley in exchange of a honest review. This book was somehow for a 3.5 overall but a 4 for the cute, unexpected love story. What I didn't much enjoy while ready this (short) story was for the fact it felt dragging in a lot of details and I lost my patience. Hopefully, this book was easy to read and quite fast to read without missing a word since I really like the story. It was pretty cute and they quite took things slow giving time to meet over and again sure that the att [...]

    22. Well a modern cinderella story. Will needs Katie to sell her building so he can continue his real estate development plans He meets Katie and of course, likes her immediately. As in cinderella. he looks past the awkward clothes, weird glasses, no make up, and little mouse attitude from Katie and falls for her.of course, he is multimillionaire down to earth kind of guyKatie is super geekie, hacker, computer genius that is trying to make a leaving with her computer store. Of course she falls for Wil [...]

    23. I enjoyed this book. It’s a quick light read. It is well written and flows smoothly. Will and Kate have excellent chemistry and I loved their interactions. Kate is a computer geek whose business is threatened by Will’s plans to develop the neighborhood. Will just wants Kate to sell like he was told she said she would. Will thinks if he spends time with her he can seduce her into cooperating…haha jokes on him. This is a fun opposites attract romance with a little bit of corporate shenanigan [...]

    24. Kate Kelly is stubborn. She won't give into the demands or the sexual seduction of Will Thorton, the billionaire developer. Kate may be a geek but she has her principles and selling her property goes against them, but she is very attracted to this determined man. Where do they go from here? Emma Shortt has done a wonderful job creating characters that I cared about. I enjoyed every twist in turn in Kate and Will's romance. I couldn't put the book down. The dialogue sparkled and the romantic tens [...]

    25. Geek girl meets billionaire This fun romance that captures the popularity of geek culture, but the twist that the geek is the girl and the guy is the "normal"one. Kate owns and runs a computer repair business from her home and Will wants to buy the property so his company can move forward with a large development deal. Hijinks ensue and the hero and heroine fall in love.I think the author did an awesome job of capturing scify culturer example Kate's nickname for will is "the Borg". Katie also re [...]

    26. Very well written and edited. This is a standalone book. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. All the female characters were interesting, had strong points-of-view, and were women I'd want to spend time with in real life. The geeky technology/gamer bits were really very well done and added to the charm of the story. The bad guy of the story was realistic and the plot seemed plausible. Sort of the trifecta for us logical, nerdy romantics! The story has a sprinkl [...]

    27. The geek and Billionaire storyline drew me in. Me being a girl who loves video games and comics and such things it was hopeful the book would be good and not overdone. I have to say i'm impressed. Kate owns her own computer store. She fixes them, makes them faster, writes code, and loves going to conventions. Will owns his own development company, he's made himself into the man he is today, and knows he has too much money. He continues to do what he does to better the areas, and ensure his emplo [...]

    28. Geek meets alpha, hot, sexy millionaire bad boy.I'm a geek of sorts and this put me on a happy high. Love for the geeks of the world can be seen in black and white and in print. Kate is a sexy geek that doesn't know her own appeal to the opposite sex until him. But is his delight in her or the fact he wants her building. The Seduction Game delivers a hottie meets geek romance that is worth coming back for. Shortt has given me a delight and will have me coming back for more. She wove a beautiful [...]

    29. This was my first Book by Emma Shortt and I liked it. It was a pretty Simple Short read.I liked the whole idea of a rich millionaire falling for a computer geek. I liked Will and Kate. I also liked the secondary characters. It describes will as a bad boy, but through the whole book i just didn't see it. Kate, being a Geek I could see. I liked Will and her together, I thought it was cute.I din't love the book, but it was enjoyable and a quick read. I liked that the Geek get's the millionaire.
