    1. Toni Griffin lives in Darwin, the smallest of Australia s capital cities Born and raised in the state she s a Territorian through and through Growing up Toni hated English with a passion as her editors can probably attest to and found her strength lies with numbers Now, though, she loves escaping to the worlds she creates and hopes to continue to do so for many years to come She s a single mother of one and works full time When she s not writing you can just about guarantee that she will be reading one of the many MM authors she loves.Feel free to drop her a line at info tonigriffin anytime.

    2. 3.5 starsFull review can be found at -Christian is a bear shifter who somehow ends up drugged and passed out on the balcony of a large rental cabin. Vincent (after a huge push from his best friend Mandy) goes to the Smokey Mountains for a ten day vacation and just happens to spot a sleeping bear on the balcony of his cabin when he arrives there in the middle of the night. When Christian wakes up in his drugged state, it's to the sound of someone screaming and then the sound of the cabin door bei [...]

    3. Cute story about a shy author of gay romances named Vincent, and a bear shifter called Christian. Neither of them expects to find their partner for life in a cabin in the middle of the woods, but Christian is slightly less shocked than Vincent. After all, Vincent has no idea shifters are real, and no matter how attracted he is to the almost-stranger, he needs time to adjust his thinking. As a consequence, Christian has his hands full not just with keeping his mate safe - from a distance - but al [...]

    4. 3.5 starsFelt a bit shallow but I liked it. Maybe I'll continue the series. But I'm not very greedy for it.

    5. A quick short read about a bear shifter who meets his matea human who has no idea shifters exist. Because this is a short story, things feel a little rushed and a bit unbelievable (and yes, I realize I am saying that about a book with bear shifters, but the shifting isn't even the part that I meanI am referring to human Vincent's reactions to everything). Oh, and in addition to some relationship hurdles, Christian also has to deal with angry sleuth (AKA pack) membersere is a lot going on in this [...]

    6. I can't even call this insta-love because the characters didn't even seem to like each other. More like insta-resigned-to-having-to-be-mates. And spending the first like 15% of a very short story on describing all of the flight delays and travelling misadventures was a horrifyingly miserable start. It's a good thing I got this on a sale at ARe, because if I'd paid money for it I'd be upset.

    7. This was an alright story. I don't mind short stories if they complete the story. I got to the end and was left thinking "What? They just got started!" There was no resolution, way too many things left hanging. (view spoiler)[I mean they didn't even resolve where they were going to live! (hide spoiler)]

    8. (Originally reviewed for Love Bytes Reviews with a copy provided by the author / publisher for an honest review.)This was a cute little story. I think it had a lot of potential for expansion, but I was happy enough with what we got.Vincent Marsden writes the same kind of books we review here at Love Bytes! I’m not sure I remember reading another same sex book since I joined Love Bytes that had a gay romance author as the MC. Vincent, as the blurb states has a pretty major case of writer’s bl [...]

    9. I am going back and forth with rating this story, and here's why.The author chose the short story format to encompass and encase his telling, but it seems to me that I wanted to know more. I have questions. Things cold have been explained more, but is it the writer's responsibility to do it? As a reader, I can use the power of my own imagination so is it a flaw that the story was too short for me? Can I not use my own imagination? Maybe. The many missing words and punctuation were a bit of a dist [...]

    10. A Bear in the Woods is a quick read with a great balance between storyline and romance.Vincent Marsden best friend Mandy is sending him on a much needed but unwanted vacation. Finally arriving a lot later than expected Vincent arrives at a stunning cabin in the Smokey Mountains, only to find a huge black bear asleep on his balcony. Christian Packard has no recollection of what happened to him after he left work the evening before. All he knows is that he has woken up on a balcony in his shifter [...]

    11. Although it was an entertaining read, which I enjoyed, I couldn’t help but feel an emotional disconnect with the characters. Perhaps it was the feeling of being dropped in to the middle of a story with little to no back story to go on, but the fact that when the story begins our main character has already been drugged, sets the tune for the rest of the story for me. There is really no build up, no getting to know the characters in order for the reader to really care one way or the other what h [...]

    12. Bear shifter finds mate after being almost killed. (But that's ok b/c he found his mate - life's not all bad). Romance writer finds love after terrible travel experience. Which we heard more about than the would be killersThings I can say nice about this book = I liked the main character's name -Vincent.

    13. A cute story about a bear shifter who finds his mate (an m/m author taking a break in a cabin), and some intrigue about who doesn't want the bear to inherit the leader of the pack status because he's gay. It moved a bit fast, I know it's mates which is fast, but maybe I thought Vincent's acceptance of shifter was fast, although, if he writes/reads m/m it's probably not a foreign concept. LOL

    14. I usually don't mind an emotional bottom in these books but hoo boyThe screaming and running away to go cry yourself to sleep over something that imo didn't warrant all the drama was just annoying. I didn't like this one at all.

    15. A lonely M/M romance novelist meets a sexy werebear in the woods. The werebear believes the novelist is fated to be his mate. Now, all he has to do is convince the novelist. This could be interesting

    16. For such a short book, I felt there was too much focus on the conflict with the homophobic guy and not enough focus on the fact that a human was the bear's mate. It freaked the hell out of Vincent, and yet Christian didn't spend any time helping his mate get comfortable with the whole idea.

    17. Loved the way this story unfolded. Everything about it worked so well. Definitely on my "must be read again" list. To find ones mate while running from the enemy, although not remembering right away, can lead to amazingly wonderful things :)

    18. Nice story i really liked reading it could have been even better i believe but i really enjoyed the read :)

    19. So far it's unbelievably boring, like a poorly written holiday from hell diatribe. It's been 15% and all this happened is multiple flight cancellations.

    20. Vincent and Christian are fated for each oher. It takes some getting used to but it seems like it will all work out.
