    4. This book explains what happens when summer turns into fall. The children do different fall activities throughout the story and show how much fun fall can be. This book is a great way to introduce the fall season. The illustrations will help the students understand the text and they also show an accurate representation of the season. I personally loved this book and would recommend it as a book for children who are just starting to learn how to read. In the classroom I would read this book aloud [...]

    5. A basic good story about two young brothers watching the leaves turn colors and then playing in them when they fall. Although not a lot of information is contained it is all correct even showing that there are two types of oak leaves, those with round tips and those with pointed tips, red oaks and the white oaks.

    6. This book goes through and explains how to children know when fall is and how to tell that fall is coming, based on the characteristics of tree leaves. This was a cute little book. I definitely recommend this book.

    7. Great for storytime! Has some great pages with size/shape/color comparisons as well as some good opportunities for interactivity.

    8. Great book that talks about the seasons. If you were to explain fall to a class this will be the perfect book.

    9. A perfect book to introduce the season of Fall. This book shares how to know when Fall is coming and when Fall is here! I love the way the illustrated used Summer colors with a lot of green to show the image of Summer, but then gradually added in beautiful shades of yellow, orange, and brown to show the season of Fall. As the story shares things the children in the book do during the season of Fall, have your own students share their favorite thing about Fall and use art to allow students to dra [...]

    10. K-2All year a little boy and his brother wait for fall to come. They watch the leaves turn from green to red, orange, and yellow. They try to catch the leaves that start blowing off the tree, and crunch the leaves by stomping on them. They will collect the leaves and compare them to other leaves. Their favorite part is raking the leaves into a big pile, then jumping into it. The two brothers also enjoy eating warm cookies, and cider, while making posters of their favorite leafs. Soon they feel t [...]

    11. I have a penchant for books for kids that give information about nature/the natural world. So, I really like this book. This is not the first such book by this author/illustrator team. This very simple story is about two young boys, and their dog, who love the fall leaves. The story, and note at the end, show how leave turn color and fall off their trees, show various types of tree leaves, and in fact covers the four seasons of a tree, with a mention of evergreen trees. I love collage art and I [...]

    12. Two boys, their dog and numerous squirrels illustrate the joy of fall and the beauty of fall leaves. Simple text and beautiful, bright and bold illustrations capture all the wonder and joy of fallere are pictures (labeled) off all sorts of leaves and many chances to interact with a story time audience: for instance there is a page that compares leaf sizes, "some leaves are very big and others are very small" - I asked my audience what color the small leaf was (yellow) and what color the very big [...]

    13. This is a fun picture book about fall for children. The illustrations are very vibrant and attractive paper collages. They also drink apple cider and eat lots of cookies. Lot's of fun for little people. The last page of the book has information on how leaves grow through the year. 15. I liked the vibrant, colorful illustrations and active style of writing. Unlike some picture books whose writing style is too complicated or too simplified, or that don't flow well from one page to another, this one has got it JUST RIGHT. I like the story of how the leaves on the tree change throughout the year, from spring to summer to fall to winter. I can see this as an appropriate "read aloud" book all year long. I like that the end papers show bright green leaves on the front and multi-colo [...]

    16. In Fall Leaves Fall, two boys are very excited for the season to change. Colorful paper cut-out illustration show the changes that occur from Summer to fall. This is a great story for preschoolers and teaches them the concepts of season change through factual information. This book would be a good choice to read during the season change. I would read this book to my class when fall begins and take them on a "Field trip" to the play ground and arrange a fall leaf collection activity. During the a [...]

    17. It's funny reading a book like this at storytime in a place where the leaves don't change color nearly as dramatically as they do in other parts of the country. Still, it's a nice book about kids and nature, less of a story than a description of childhood experience. The illustration doesn't particularly appeal to me, but they are nice and clear for storytime.

    18. This is a great fall book, especially for preschool-lower elementary age. It is not only educational, but it is in story form, which make it more entertaining. It gives arts/crafts ideas and at the end goes through the life cycle of the leaf.

    19. I thought this was a good read because there is much engaging text in the story, and there is a lot of information in it about nature. It tells about the process of the leaves falling. I could incorporate this book into my lessons.

    20. How do you know when it is fall? This book describes the changes that happen in the earth and the different activities you can do in fall. The kids identify and compare leaves and then make a collage and leaf pictures!

    21. A great picture book to describe what happens in the fall. This book is great for the little ones, toddlers through kindergarten. Maybe even first grade if you started with this then went into more detail.

    22. Two brothers describe the process in which leaves turn from green to brown. Once all of the leaves have fallen from the trees the boys rake them into huge piles and jump! Then they gather their favorites and use them for art projects.Scientific info on leaf change included.

    23. This is a great book about the changing of the seasons, from summer to fall. But it wasn’t sing-songy, it didn’t flow well for the storytime. None of the kids or adults were into the book. It didn’t really tell a story. This book is more informative than anything else, so it was kind of a flop.

    24. A fun book on what happens to leaves in the Fall. It even includes some fun ideas for activities you can your little one can do together including identifying different types of leaves you may see in your neighborhood.

    25. I chose this book based on the fun fall colors! As I was searching the library for the perfect book to start the theme of Fall off, this is the one I thought would be best. It is very appealing and has really net hand drawn photos.

    26. This cute little story talks about too brothers and why fall is their favorite season. It shows pictures of different leaves and what kind of trees they came from. I would read this book to a younger classroom to introduce the idea of seasons.

    27. Great book with bright pictures about leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. Good for storytime interaction, having them act out jumping into a pile of leaves and crunching them on the ground.
